Occupy Election 2012: It’s “We the People” not “We the Media”
Mar 7th
I don’t remember an election where a candidate didn’t even have half the delegates needed to actually win the nomination and the American people were constantly told to simply “come together” or to just concede and ‘’get behind’’ that person. The media and the majority of the establishment have truly exemplified the left’s mentality of one not having to actually earn something but rather it just be given to them.
It’s as if the media has taken over with Occupy Election 2012. News alert to mainstream: There are a lot more than one per center’s out here in this matter and we are not going to compromise nor concede to the candidate you are pushing upon us. We aren’t going to drop those red, white and blue balloons yet regardless of the fact you’re already inflating them. It’s we the people, not we the media.
Not even half of the states in this Republic have gone to the polls to elect the man who will stand up against the train wreck who has been steering us on the Socialism Express for the last three years. But yet, every day we are told that one particular candidate is the ‘’inevitable’’ nominee and that he is the ‘’only one who can beat Obama.” I have always said, whoever the media subtly endorses, or in this case blatantly endorses in a Republican nomination process, the voters need to flee in the opposite direction. Am I saying all media is doing this? No. However the big networks, newspapers, talking heads, paid political pundits and so-called non-establishment columnists are.
Not only have the American people experienced how pushy the establishment can be, we have also seen how they are able to pick the political topic for the week (or months), falsely spin it and then blame a particular candidate for not talking about the ‘’important issues.” Prime example is what they did to Senator Santorum. The fact is that ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was the man responsible for bringing up contraception in one of the first Presidential debates. Unfortunately they were successful in their attempt to trap the candidates in their media net and the birth control issue became more like the catch of the next three months instead of the catch of the day. We need to remain a few strokes ahead of them and not let something as ridiculous as reproduction and birth control dictate our discussion. Speaking of producing, I’m still waiting for someone to produce the tape where Senator Santorum said he is going to take away a woman’s birth control. ..
Last night while watching the returns from Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma and the other Super Tuesday states, CNN did a hypothetical delegate map where they played around with numbers and states regarding the candidate’s potential wins. I wouldn’t mind hypothetical maps if they actually did hypothetical’s that were possible for all candidates. It was as if they gave John King only one Crayola to use, Romney Red.
I know from experience this election after speaking with hundreds of voters the lines of truth and complacency are merging. This is far from over. We need to remember that we live in a Republic and all of us are to be represented. That means we each get a say and that it’s our duty to educate ourselves on the issues and not simply take what a Super PAC ad says or a paid panel of pundits. We are capable of thinking for ourselves. Whenever we are rushed into something, it should serve as a bright yellow yield sign. Usually when someone rushes us to do something they are hiding something or they know that the passing of time will be disadvantageous to them. Just like when Nancy Pelosi said ‘’we must pass the healthcare bill in order to see what’s in it.”
The establishment is trying to rush us into picking a candidate, a particular candidate. It’s in these moments we must refuse compromise and we must take the longest pause. In the end yes, Republicans will back our nominee. We want Barack Obama on flight #2013 back to Chicago, golf clubs and all. What I am saying is that this time hopefully it won’t be as it was in 2008; when the majority of us had to close our eyes and clench our jaw while pulling the lever for our Republican nominee.
The USS ‘Shining City on a Hill’’ is sinking…it’s time to vote your faiTh!

I’ve watched reports of the Italian cruise ship that sank this weekend and it made me think of the United States. South Carolina is right around the corner and it appears as if one state (New Hampshire) has already chosen the GOP nominee for the remaining 49 states. Or as Obama would say, the remaining 56 states. I’ve always said the primary should be held on one day, just like the general election and the winner should be chosen by popular vote of all 50 states, not just two or three. However, that won’t change right now but it proves my point that now more than ever we (Republicans/Conservatives/Independents) must make the decision for ourselves and not who the media or dropout candidates choose for us.
I’m not going to pin one candidate against the other now. Although, I have my choice and you will more than likely figure that out by time I am finished, but rather I want to emphasize why Americans need to refute the deceptive idea that faith shouldn’t have any part in politics. There is a direct correlation between laws, which dictate policy, that have direct moral implications. Laws define the morality of a nation. A nation that erodes truth and morals will be a nation facing judgment. America is that nation and we have a decision to make, not only on a national stage, but most importantly, an individual stage.
I understand the economic situation we’re in. I have friends and family that have been under such devastating hardships and it’s heartbreaking to see. Obama’s policies have done nothing but erode the rapidly fraying capitalistic rope of America. However, America should have expected no less from a man who admitted his ties to radical communists. That’s why it’s vital the GOP nominate someone who understands the greatness of capitalism and not someone who sees the rich as a threat to his communist ideas.
However, this is where I feel Americans are not making the necessary connection. The truth is, not only has the capitalistic rope of America been fraying but the morality rope has already been split in two. Morals MUST play a part in the 2012 elections. The decline in morality within America is a direct correlation as to why we are in the dire situation we are in. Now please understand me; I put no faith in man, only Christ. I don’t believe a politician is going to save anyone. Only Christ can. I don’t believe that any politician is infallible, only Christ is. I don’t believe that if Obama is ousted this year that peace will reign, peace will only reign when Christ returns. What I do know is America does have a government who writes laws, passes laws and signs laws. Well, according to Obama he does all of the above. It’s our duty to ensure those responsible for enacting legislation understand that if their laws are laced with immorality, that it will act as a catalyst to further economic and other devastation for America. There are three areas where within the last couple decades America has been hanging onto the sinking bow of the USS Shining City on a Hill.
The barbaric way we treat the unborn:
Hitler savagely murdered six million Jews and the world was at war. America has murdered 60 million of their own and it is called ‘’choice.” America has failed to protect the most innocent and vulnerable; the unborn. Rather we have turned a blind eye to a barbaric practice which we allow politicians to call a ‘’medical procedure’’ or ‘’women’s reproductive rights.” In 2008 Christians came out voting heavily for Barack Obama, the most pro abortion President America has ever had. A man who voted against a ban a partial birth abortion, where the child is partially born then murdered. A man who defended his view by stating, “I wouldn’t want my daughter punished with a baby.” How is it possible Christians could vote for a man who completely stands against everything Christ explicitly spoke of; “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” Jeremiah 1:5 ” You knit me in my mother’s womb . . . nor was my frame unknown to you when I was made in secret” (Psalm 139:13,15). “You have been my guide since I was first formed . . . from my mother’s womb you are my God” (Psalm 22:10-11)
America can’t be naïve and believe that the Creator of all life will not seek justice for every life He has created.: Lest innocent blood be shed in your land, which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, and so blood guilt be upon you” Deut. 19:10
The way we’ve diminished the sanctity of marriage: marriage is becoming less and less common in America. The divorce rate is at 50 percent and many of the couples who choose to get married often talk about their marriage as being their first of more than likely many. Marriage isn’t something one goes into because you read an advertisement for the Little White Chapel in Vegas. It has lost its’ foundation. It is not just covenant between husband and wife but a covenant with God. It is the foundation of a family:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it” Genesis 1:27-28. It’s no surprise that since the sanctity of marriage has been rewritten by politicians that there has been in increase in divorce. There is a reason the Lord specified man and woman and explicitly condemned homosexuality. However in America’s post-modern era we live in, marriage is looked at as something you do if you simply ‘’love someone.” Or in Rosie O’Donnell’s case it’s something you do if you want to spite George W. Bush. If that’s the case why do so many marriages fail even when they say they are in love? Marriage is so much more than just loving someone. It’s about building a life, a covenant, raising children upon a solid foundation as Christ intended. That’s why the argument of why can’t homosexuals marry if they love each other is clearly refuted when one understands the true meaning of marriage. Unfortunately, more Americans are following what The Church of Lady Gaga believes marriage should be as opposed to what the Creator of marriage says.
The Lord takes covenants extremely serious. Throughout Scripture the covenant of marriage between a husband and wife is compared to the covenant of marriage between Christ with His people. Paul said “I betrothed you to Christ, to present you as a pure bride to her one husband” (2 Cor 11:2). The ultimate consummation of marriage will take place when Christ returns for His Bride (the church) as described as the ‘’marriage supper of the lamb’’ in the book of Revelation.
The runaway greed:
many in America put 100% of the blame on Wall Street and big government for the dire economic times we are in. I blame them too. The greed that has enveloped Washington D.C., the banks, and big wigs is gut wrenching. At the same time however, it should make us as individuals look at ourselves and ask ourselves are we too greedy and do we too share a love of things? Idolatry has increased in this nation. As Christians we know that greed comes before a fall. We know that ‘all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted’ Luke 14:11.So we must ask ourselves too; have we exalted ourselves? I’m not saying it’s wrong to succeed and have nice things. I am a capitalist. However so many in America have a love for things and give themselves all the credit where truly the credit isn’t due. We must turn from idolatry.
To me, it’s no surprise America is in the position she is in. We must get our priorities straight. The decline of American morality does have a direct effect on why our nation is in the place it’s in. Policy does play a role in the moral choices of a nation. So the next time someone tells you that the economy is the most important issue, I hope that you will think twice. I am not belittling the economic hardships but we cannot possibly call ourselves “followers of Christ” but vote for someone who completely stands in contrast to what our real Authority stands for. The real government is and will always be upon His shoulders (paraphrase Isaiah 9:6). It will be your choice whether you endorse this destructive path or choose to go against the immorality tide and vote for Truth. If we truly profess that we are a Christian nation, then we better start voting like one.
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17
