Roe vs. Wade: 39 years later = 53 million dead as death toll increases…
Jan 22nd
Thirty-nine years ago the United States of America gave the green light sentencing to death the most vulnerable of a nations’ citizens; the unborn. It seems every year the same marches are marched, the same signs are held, and the same chants are chanted.
Yes, I do see a lot of progress being made in the states but after years and years of new law makers in Washington who profess to stand with the unborn children, why has there not been more progress? Why are American tax dollars still going to abort children on a daily basis? Why are there not more on the federal level who are willing to adamantly fight to put abortion as a front burner issue? It’s unfortunate that in America today, abortion is not considered an ‘’important issue.” On various polls I believe its level of importance has fallen as low as Congress’ approval rating. I have stressed over and over, until we get or moral priorities in check, America shouldn’t expect to see much economical flourishing.
I often get asked as a Conservative how I can be against abortion but in favor of the death penalty. My question is how can one be for abortion but against the death penalty? Presidential candidate Rick Santorum said it best recently when he was asked this question; so a man who brutally beats and rapes a woman receives no punishment but the innocent child conceived from the rape does?
I recently partook in a gathering outside Arizona State Capitol on opening day session. Various pro-abortion women’s’ groups were marching in circles in order to tell Arizona’s Conservative/pro-life lawmakers that ‘’we are watching you.” No joke, that is what their t-shirts said. I guess it’s a good thing these pro abortion women had pro life mothers or else they wouldn’t be alive to advocate their so –called cause. Reagan said it best, “I realize that all those who are for abortion have already been born.” One girl had her newborn baby draped in a pink Planned Parenthood t-shirt. Gee, I guess Planned Parenthood doesn’t need billboards anymore! As I stood there I had a few pink t-shirt wearing women come up to me and scathingly whisper in my ear “if you care so much about the children why don’t you pay for their health care!” Well according to these women the only health care they need is a visit to Planned Parenthood and they won’t ever need to worry about providing health care for their child.
It was then when I just stepped back, stood on the lawn and watched these women banter and chant for ‘’choice.’’ I don’t know if you’ve ever just had a moment where you step back and take everything in. It’s then when it really hit me; the pro abortion movement is so powerful and it truly is huge. I would estimate about 250 pro abortion women to the 50 or so pro life supporters. I had a moment where it did seem overwhelming. I prayed. I can’t imagine if I felt that way how much more it must pain the Creator of those lives being called a ‘’choice.’’ As I stood back taking it all in, praying, one thing really stood out to me; there is something in the hearts of these women that only God Almighty can change. There is a hard- heartedness within them. There were times I couldn’t respond to them, not because I didn’t know what to say but I really felt bad for them. These women are so deceived…How does one little person like me break down a hardened wall? Ultimately, I felt comfort knowing that even though the task is huge and sometimes it feels so overwhelming that as Christians we know it’s simply our job to plant the seed and Christ will handle the fruition part…
I pray for the day Roe vs. Wade is overturned and the death sentence imposed on 4,000 innocent victims a day is commuted. The task can seem overwhelming because I felt it that day on the Capitol lawn. How can we as individuals fight the establishment and companies who receive millions and millions of government subsidies to abort children? The truth is if you can impact just one person, you are doing something. If you attend one event and make one connection, you are doing something. We need to be bold. We must not be afraid. Someone has to be the voice for the voiceless. The pro life movement does not have the money the pro abortion movement has, but we do have the Creator of life in our favor. We know He knew us BEFORE He formed us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5) In the meantime, the death toll continues to rise…what will you do to stop it?
